Yes that’s right. Shrek’s been called up, and before you ask, we don’t mean Wayne Rooney!

With less than a month before kick off at Old Trafford, Soccer Aid 2010 has signed a raft of global movie stars for its Rest of the World squad.
Comic genius Mike Myers (Austin Powers, Wayne’s World), Academy Award nominee Woody Harrelson (The People vs Larry Flint, Natural Born Killers, Zombieland, White Men Can’t Jump) and Australian born actor Simon Baker (The Mentalist, LA Confidential, The Devil Wears Prada) will all be joining the star-studded line up to help raise money for UNICEF.

The Hollywood A-listers will be putting in an Oscar-winning performance in the hope that they will help the Rest of the World team lift the Soccer Aid trophy for the very first time.

The Hollywood trio will join the team alongside captain Michael Sheen (The Queen, Twilight: New Moon, Alice in Wonderland), world class chef Gordon Ramsay, TV presenter Gethin Jones, comedian Patrick Kielty, Westlife members Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne, cricketing legend Brian Lara, undefeated boxing champion Joe Calzaghe and actor James Kyson-Lee, who plays Ando in Heroes.

The celebrities will be joined by football heroes including Zinedine Zidane, Manchester United hero Ryan Giggs, former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann and Swedish legend Henrik Larsson with even more high-profile names to be announced.

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish will manage the super squad with the help of his old Reds team mate Ian Rush.

They will be taking on the England team who’s team sheet currently includes Robbie Williams, GMTV presenter Ben Shephard, actor and TV presenter Bradley Walsh, presenter and DJ Jamie Theakston, boxing hero Ricky Hatton, actor Damian Lewis alongside football legends Alan Shearer, David Seaman, Teddy Sheringham and Jamie Redknapp. Comic genius James Corden will be the assistant manager.

Soccer Aid, the brainchild of Robbie Williams and UNICEF UK, will be kicking off on Sunday 6th June at Manchester’s legendary Old Trafford stadium and broadcast live on ITV1. Two star-studded squads of footballing legends and celebrities from England and the Rest of the World will take on one another in an electrifying football match all in aid of UNICEF, the world’s leading children’s organisation.
