Old Trafford boss greatly interested in young Slovakian international.
Manchester United are rumoured to be ready to step up the chase for Napoli’s highly rated attacking midfielder Marek Hamsik. The Serie A star has alerted a number of potential interested parties by declaring that he would be open to offers to join Europe’s elite and is sure to become an even bigger target if he puts in a good show at the World Cup for his Slovakian side.
Sir Alex Ferguson has previously been linked with a move for the 22 year old who has had three outstanding seasons in Naples and has become regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Serie A thanks to his ability to conjure up something from nothing. The former Brescia man can play in a number of positions but works well as an attacking central midfielder.
He is sometimes used to great effect in a floating role and has an eye for goal as well as the ability to expertly set up others. He has great potential and may find that his career would be better served by a move away from his current surroundings.

Clearly money could be a big factor in trying to secure any big names this summer and given the financial strain Manchester United are under it could be that Sir Alex has to trim his squad before making a move for the £22m rated Slovak.
That said it has been reported that the Old Trafford boss still admires Hamsik and would dearly love to add more creativity to his midfield and a move for the youngster may well be a very wise one. The likes of Barcelona and Manchester City are also said to be interested.
