Group D is very finely balanced and all four sides can still theoretically progress but Ghana will be kicking themselves for not overcoming ten men Australia in their last clash and must now hope to avoid defeat against Germany in Johannesburg.

Joachim Low’s side thrashed Australia in their opener but were strangely subdued against Serbia but did have to play for most of that match with ten men after having Miroslav Klose unfairly sent off.
