Eastlands outfit ready for Bernabeu bid?
Real Madrid want to snatch Carlos Tevez from Manchester City and are prepared to offer £40 million to bring him to the club, according to Sport.
Tevez, 26, shone at City last term after making a controversial cross-town switch from Manchester United. His 28-goal haul put the club on the brink of Champions league qualification and ‘do-or-die’ attitude made him a hero to the supporters.
This firm has attracted Madrid and they are prepared to throw wages of £180,000-a-week at the Argentina World Cup 2010 star to bring him to the Bernabeu. With Raul likely to exit this summer and Karim Benzema a reported target for United, Tevez would fill the gap in Real’s ranks and link-up with international team-mate Gonzalo Higuain. (Goal.com)
There have been countless reports that Carlos Tevez and Roberto Mancini don’t get on. Enough to make people believe that there is a grain of truth in it. It would seem highly possible that should Jose Mourinho indeed make such a move for the Argentine that the former Man United man could have his head turned by a move to the La Liga giants.
Roberto Mancini does seem to want to change things at Eastlands and is looking to bring in his own players and who knows, maybe he would gladly take such a big fee for the 26 year old, who had a great debut season at the club.
One wonders if the “Special One” really needs another striker but then if he too wants to re-jig things at the Bernabeu there could be changes a plenty.
