NEWPORT, ISLE OF WIGHT - JUNE 14: Danny O'Donoghue of The Script performs at the Isle of Wight Festival on June 14, 2009 in Newport, Isle of Wight. The festival, attended by 50,000 music fans, which features headline acts The Prodigy , Stereophonics and Neil Young, is in its eighth year after being reincarnated in 2002. The promoters claim their aim is to recreate the hippy spirit of the famous festivals held on the island in the late 1960s, when thousands of music fans watched acts such as Jimi Hendrix, the Doors and Bob Dylan. The Script describe their music on their own website as “U2 versus Timbaland, Van Morrison remixed by Teddy Riley”, and we’re not arguing with that most succint of summaries.

In fact, it only makes us wonder why neither of those collaborations have happened. In the meantime though, at least we have the Script to keep us happy.

The Irish band behind incredible singles We Cry and The Man Who Can’t Be Moved will embark on a UK tour in November 2010, and will be supported by American singer Lissie as they promote second album Science & Faith.
