West Bromwich Albion have abandoned their interest in former Manchester United midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba.

The Cameroon international, who currently plies his trade with Danish outfit BK Odense, travelled to England for talks earlier this week.

However, the Baggies have decided not to pursue the matter further on medical grounds.

A statement released by the club on their official website read: “West Brom have decided not to pursue their interest in Odense midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba.
“He travelled to England to meet the club earlier this week.

“But, following medical tests and further talks between the clubs, Albion have decided not to proceed with a deal.” (Sky Sports)

Those hoping to see the mighty midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba back in Premier League action will have to readjust their hopes as West Brom have decided that after his medical tests they should not bother. More likely they handed him a football and on reflection decided that his performances at Manchester United were in fact representative of his ability and not just some freak anomaly.

Expect Manchester City to make an offer.
