Can anyone give Craig Bellamy a lift to Glasgow?
Bellamy enjoyed a spell on loan at Celtic in 2005 and Celtic manager Neil Lennon has refused to rule out a move for his former Bhoys team-mate.
“I wouldn’t like to say anything at the moment,” he said when asked about reports of a move for Bellamy.
When asked whether the club were in a position to pull off that sort of transfer, he replied: “I would hope so but I don’t know. It’s still up in the air regards that.” (Sky Sports)
With Manchester City seemingly having infinity players in each position, there is apparently little room for Craig Bellamy at the club – despite him often being City’s best player last season.
As a proven Premier League goalscorer and having lost little of his pace, he is a man in demand. West Ham, Tottenham and Aston Villa are the English clubs most heavily linked, but Glasgow club Celtic have become the latest to register an interest.
With Celtic out of the UEFA Champions League, it remains to be seen if Craig Bellamy would be interested in moving to Scotland – especially if Aiden McGeady is set on leaving. Celtic instead offer UEFA Europa League football, but should the Aston Villa interest materialise into an actual offer they would appear the more likely bet.
Still, it would appear that Bellamy will most certainly not be playing at Eastlands this season.
