Former Arsenal midfielder interested in White Hart Lane move.
Alexander Hleb has revealed he is attracted to the idea of playing for Tottenham Hotspur.
Hleb has said he might do the unthinkable and join Arsenal’s arch-rival.
“I heard about the link with Tottenham Hotspur and I think they are a great club” said Hleb, insisting he wants to honour his contract at Barcelona.
“I appreciate their interest and we will see what happens in the future” he added.
Now his agent his claimed the Spurs’ interest in his client is “official.” (Waltham Forest Guardian)
Alexander Hleb hasn’t had the best of times at the Nou Camp, starting just 19 games since his move to the club two years ago. The former Arsenal man was loaned out to Stuttgart last term and was a big success in the Bundesliga with his former club.
Harry Redknapp is a big admirer of the Belarussian who has been told he is unlikely to figure prominently in the coming season at the Catalan club. Hleb is an adaptable striking weapon who is looking for a new challenge and could be available for as little as £8m.
The Tottenham boss is still looking to bring in new additions before the transfer window shuts and a move for the 29 year old seems more of a possibility now that the player himself has welcomed the interest from the north London club.
