Old Trafford looking to build for the future with potential move for Anderlecht youngster.
Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing up and coming Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku as they look to build for the future. Having brought in youngsters Javier Hernandez and Chris Smalling this summer Sir Alex Ferguson has sent scouts to monitor the towering 17 year old Anderlecht striker.
The player’s agent has admitted there is a great deal of interest in his client from across Europe which is unsurprising given the youngsters speedy rise to prominence. The teenager managed 19 goals in his first full season during which time he proved himself in Europa League competition and also helped his side to their first domestic title in three years.
Sir Alex Ferguson is keen on building a team for the future and due to the financial problems at the club knows that the best way to do so is to bring in young players who are building a name for themselves rather than spending big on the finished article.
If the Premier League club made their interest known to the 6ft 3in striker then it would hard to prevent the player from having his head turned by interest and at that point Anderlecht would find it hard to keep hold of the £9m rated talent.
The likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool are also reportedly interested in the highly rated forward.
