It`s being reported on Sky Sports News that Wigan Athletic player Charles N`Zogbia is set to hand a transfer request into the club today.

The France international only made his first appearance for the French in last nights (Wednesday) 2-1 defeat against Norway and now he is ready to turn his back on the Latics after getting his career back on track at the DW Stadium following his £6.5 million move from Newcastle in February 2009. News is rife that Charles N’Zogbia is set to hand a transfer request in as he seeks to move to a bigger club with Arsene Wenger said to be viewing events very carefully.
The 24 year old attacking midfielder became a full French international yesterday as he appeared for France in their defeat to Norway.

The former Newcastle player is said to be getting itchy feet ahead of the close of the transfer window and is testing the water regarding any potential suitors.

Arsene Wenger at Arsenal is said to be interested in the midfielder. (Wiganer.net)

Every time we are linked with Charles N’Zogbia I get worried. The Frenchman has now finally won a full international cap but that was only because Laurent Blanc was unable to select any of the World Cup squad, therefore the former Newcastle man is probably under the impression that he is now worthy of a move a) away from the DW Stadium and b) to a club such as ours.

Now that the 24 year old has put in a transfer request there will no doubt be interest and Arsene Wenger is known to be a fan but I hope to god we don’t actually make a bid for his services. Luckily it seems unlikely we will be moving for a player such as N’Zogbia as we are looking for defenders and a keeper at present.

Apparently Wigan value his services at around £12m and the likes of Stoke and Sunderland are monitoring the situation, I hope to god they buy him before we even consider a move!
