Harry Redknapp ready to start spending to strengthen his White Hart Lane squad.
TOTTENHAM will step up their £25m double swoop for Ashley Young and Craig Bellamy – opening the door for Peter Crouch to move to Sunderland.
Young’s future at Villa is in major doubt after Martin O’Neill’s shock resignation this week. Tottenham are in pole position to land the England winger after Harry Redknapp identified the former Watford man as one of his top summer targets.
And Starsport understands Young favours a move to north London and has already looked at houses there.
Young still has two years of his existing contract to run. O’Neill had been urging Villa to hand him a new £75,000-aweek deal to keep him from walking out.
Young is desperate to be part of Fabio Capello’s England plans and feels a move to Champions Leaguebound Spurs will boost his international chances

There appear to be some mixed signals coming from Villa Park in relation to the future of England winger Ashley Young. Some sources state that the 25 year old will stick it out at the club and see who the new boss is before making any decision and other sources state that he very much wants to move on and Harry Redknapp is a man on a mission it seems.
The White Hart Lane boss has been bidding his time waiting for the transfer market to start whirring into action and it appears to be getting close to that point now. Craig Bellamy is reportedly looking into a potential loan move to Celtic, who can not afford to buy the Welshman outright.
However the Eastlands man would be presumably be more interested in a move to another Premier League side and one who could offer him Champions League football?
