Anderson has hinted he wants out at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian, 22, fell out with Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson after a row during pre-season training.

The £17.5m buy from Porto has since played just four times having been injured for much of last season.

He said: “I am good in Manchester but I’d like to return to Portugal and my preference would be Porto.” (The Sun)

There has been much speculation about the alleged bust-up between Anderson and Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, but full details have never been confirmed. It may never be known just how serious it was, or if it genuinely happened, but there have been constant rumours about the Brazilian midfielder’s future at the club ever since the incident.

He does though seem to be a favourite of Ferguson’s on the pitch, and produced a fine display against Valencia in their recent Champions League fixture.

Anderson has been unfortunate with injuries during his spell at the club, and clearly has the potential to be a big asset to the team if he can start to feature regularly.

A move back to Porto in the future could be on the cards, but the player will surely be staying at Manchester United for a while yet.
