Manchester United are reportedly considering an audacious move for Real Madrid star Kaka. Sir Alex Ferguson is resigned to losing want-away striker Wayne Rooney and is adamant that any funds made from the sale of the England International will be pumped right back into the club’s transfer budget and with this in mind he is hoping to lure the Brazilian to Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho has already admitted that the former AC Milan attacker could leave the club after the Bernabeu boss brought in a ready made replacement, Mesut Ozil, for the injured Kaka. The 28 year old has not had the best of times at the La Liga giants and has been strongly linked with a move away from the club he joined in June 2009.
Ferguson is looking to land a ‘marquee’ signing to prove that his club is still very much a player on the European stage and doesn’t want a repeat of the scenario that played out following the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo for £80. On that occasion the Man United boss was only given a small portion of those funds to reinvest in his squad as the lions share of the fee was used to help the club cover some of their mammoth debt.
Kaka may well be interested in a move to the Premier League or indeed a move anywhere as he looks to reignite a flagging career. The talented former World Player of the Year is currently sidelined with a knee injury but is due to recover by January.
The likes of Inter Milan and his former club AC Milan have also been linked with a move to bring Kaka back to Serie A and any move would set back any prospective suitor at least £45m.
