Manchester United are set to offer Thailand goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan a trial at the club on the advice of club legend Bryan Robson.
Thamsatchanan, 20, currently plays for Muangthong United and has recently become a full international for his country.
Former United captain Robson, who made 461 appearances for United, is currently in charge of the Thailand national team.
And he has spoken to United manager Sir Alex Ferguson about rookie Thamsatchanan, who has been earning rave reviews back in his homeland.
With Edwin Van der Sar approaching the end of his career, Ferguson is on the look out for a replacement and has been linked with a whole host of potential goalkeepers.
Thamsatchanan is now in line to be offered a chance to prove himself as a potential successor to the Dutchman by having a trial at Old Trafford. (talkSPORT)
Yet another goalkeeper linked with Manchester United, but the Thai international is probably a bit to young to immediately succeed Edwin van der Sar.
The current Manchester United goalkeeper looks set to retire at the end of the season, and Sir Alex Ferguson will want to have a direct replacement lined up in plenty of time.
If he can live up to his potential whilst on trial, Thamsatchanan could be brought in as immediate back-up to in January, but it is surely inevitable that a more experienced stopper will be purchased by the end of the season.
