Spurs are to make a bid for AS Monaco striker Dieumerci Mbokani in January as their striking crisis continues.
With Jermain Defoe still out of action, the lack of goals from Peter Crouch, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Robbie Keane has been highlighted, and Tottenham have been forced to rely on their midfield to come up with the goods – particularly Rafael van der Vaart and Gareth Bale.
Democratic Republic of Congo international Mbokani only moved to Monaco in the summer, but is reportedly finding it difficult to settle in the principality and Spurs are aiming to capitalise.
With the likely formation upon Defoe’s return a 4-4-1-1 with van der Vaart behind the England hitman, it remains unclear whether where Mbokani would stand in the pecking order of Tottenham forwards.
However, Tottenham will listen to offers for Pavlyuchenko and Keane in January.
