Everton are said to be lining up a move for Queens Park Rangers striker Jamie Mackie .
According to the People, Everton scouts have had their eyes on the Scotland international for several weeks.
QPR will reportedly ask for some £3million for the 25-year-old.
Mackie has an efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 127.6 minutes for QPR this term and has been a major factor in their promotion push.
He is contracted to QPR until the end of the 2013/2014 season. (IMScouting)
David Moyes is a manager who likes to shop in the lower leagues to locate the best talent there is outside the top tier. He did so to bet Millwall’s Tim Cahill and brought in Jermaine Beckford from Leeds last summer. The Scot is not averse to bringing in players who he feels can make the step up the divisions. Jamie Mackie has garnered a lot of attention and some would say that the speculation has affected his game this term.
After starting the season with a bang, eight goals in seven games, the Dorking born Scottish international has now gone seven matches without a goal which has been part of the reason that Cardiff have leapfrogged the Loftus Road side to the top of the table.
Everton have a number of striking options at present with Louis Saha fighting back to full fitness and Yakubu beginning to get back into gear and with the aforementioned Beckford as back up, it seems a move for the former Exeter City man may not be that pressing.
