AC Milan are lining up bids for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres and Manchester United winger Nani as Silvio Berlusconi looks to back new boss Massimiliano Allegri in his efforts to usher in a new era of success for the rapidly ageing San Siro side.
Having failed to land the Serie A title in six seasons the Rossoneri owner is ready to back his manager with significant funds to help wrestle dominance in the Italian league from arch rivals Inter Milan. Allegri has identified a number of targets he wishes to bring to the club and the list includes the two Premier League players who he may find it hard to secure.
Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been linked with a move away from Anfield after a poor start to the season both personally and as a club as a whole. The Spaniard is apparently unhappy with life under Roy Hodgson but with new owners at the Merseyside club the 26 year old has experienced an up turn in form over the past couple of games but is still a target for Europe’s elite.
It may be tougher still for the AC Milan manager to persuade Nani to leave Old Trafford but again he sees the in form flair player as an ideal player to help rejuvenate a team who has an alarming number of players nearing the end of their careers.
Moves for the Premier League pair would cost anything up to £75m and other names said to be on Allegri’s wish-list include Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, Lille starlet Eden Hazard and Real Madrid centre back Raul Albiol.
