Tottenham Hotspur are facing an injury crisis ahead of their trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal.

Harry Redknapp has often declared that his squad is down to the “bare bones”, but he is far from exaggerating here.

Spurs are without their first choice centre back pairing, Ledley King and Michael Dawson, while speculation is mounting over whether Jonathan Woodgate plans to retire.

In midfield, Tom Huddlestone has undertaken surgery that rules him out for the next three months, and Aaron Lennon has hamstring trouble.

Finally up front, Robbie Keane has yet to recover from his calf problem and Jermain Defoe has only just returned to training after months out with a knee injury, but will be included in the squad.

It does not bode well for the North London derby tomorrow – or Tottenham’s chance of reversing their shocking record away at the big four clubs of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

They have not won at any of those club’s grounds in 68 matches, and indeed last beat Arsenal away in 1993.

Still, even if it will be against the odds with so many players out, records have to be broken sometime, right?
