Manchester United look set to land Leeds teenager Elliot Kebbie after an 18-month pursuit.

United are understood to have agreed a £500,000 deal. (Daily Mail)

Elliot Kebbie has been linked with Manchester United ever since last summer, and his prime asset is that he is exceptionally quick.

Indeed, when he was 14 years old he ran the 100 metres in a mere 11.5 seconds.

This transfer is far from as concluded as the Daily Mail would have us believe though.

Leeds issued the following statement today:

The club can confirm that no bid has been received from Manchester United for Elliott Kebbie, despite reports in the national media, and nor would one be welcomed.

Halifax-born Elliott signed scholarship forms with the club last year and will join our Academy on a scholarship basis in July 2011. (Leeds United Official Website)

Last year, Kebbie visited both Manchester United and Everton, and elected that the best place for his development would be Elland Road.

If his opinion has changed, the reported transfer figure is £500,000 is unlikely, for there would almost certainly be a compensation tribunal. After all, Leeds have trained the youngster since the age of eight, and would justifiably want to be rewarded for their efforts.
