United are set to complete the signing of Anders Lindegaard tomorrow after the Danish goalkeeper flew into Manchester to finalise the deal.

Lindegaard – dubbed the “new Peter Schmeichel” travelled to Carrington to undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a £4.2m move from Norwegian club, Aalesunds.

The 26-year-old has been tracked by Sir Alex Ferguson since the summer, with United goalkeeping coach, Eric Steele, making numerous personal checks on his progress. (Manchester Evening News)

This transfer has been seemingly ‘on the verge’ of happening since July.

However, finally some kind of conclusion is about to be reached with the news that Anders Lindegaard has arrived in Manchester to tie up all the loose ends.

It is widely reported that Lindegaard flew by EasyJet to from Copenhagen to Manchester, so presumably he hasn’t yet cashed his signing on fee cheque.

Manchester United’s current number one, Edwin Van Der Sar, was asked by Danish television station TV3 what he knew of the 26 year-old.

“I’ve seen him a few times, including in the Denmark – Portugal game,” said the giant Dutchman. “He’s good.”

There you go.
