Telegraph Sport can reveal that the club are seeking to replace Sporting Director Frank Arnesen with Barcelona’s former Director of Football Txiki Begiristain and hope that he can persuade Guardiola, whose contract expires at the end of the season, to come with him to Stamford Bridge.
According to sources close to Begiristain, he has met with representatives of Roman Abramovich, Chelsea’s owner, and is enthusiastic about succeeding Arnesen, especially if it would allow him to resurrect his successful partnership with Guardiola.
Chelsea confirmed on Saturday that Arnesen had resigned and will leave the club at the end of the season. (Telegraph)

Carlo Ancelotti has brushed off speculation linking the Spaniard with a move for his job at the Premier League champions but to be honest if indeed the Italian was about to be axed in favour of the Barcelona man then he would probably be the last to know about it.

There is no doubting that the last month has been a testing one for the Blues and a series of poor performances following the surprise axing of Ray Wilkins has led some to believe, perhaps harshly, that all is not well between Ancelotti and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Do Chelsea fans think that such a move is possible or is this merely mindless speculation.
