LIVERPOOL reject Adam Hammill is being lined up for a return to Merseyside – with Everton.

Toffees boss David Moyes is planning a £2m bid for the Barnsley midfielder, 22,when the January transfer window opens.

Moyes has had Hammill watched all season and is convinced he has the talent to make it in the Premier League.

Hammill has blossomed at Oakwell since arriving on a permanent switch from Anfield in August 2009 after a successful loan stint.

In the Championship this term Hammill has impressed and scored seven league goals.

Tykes boss Mark Robins said: “Hopefully, he will stay with us until he is ready to go somewhere that is worthy of his talent.”

And Hammill said: “If a move to the Premier League happens, it’d have to be at the right time.” (Daily Star)

Despite being at the club for 11 years and playing a decent part in the 2006 FA Youth Cup victory, Liverpool deemed Adam Hammill not good enough for Anfield.

The 22 year-old Englishman, who can play on both wings as well as just behind a forward, moved to Barnsley in 2009 following a successful loan move, and his seven league goals in nineteen appearances is an exceptional return for a wide man.

Manchester City showed with the purchase of Adam Johnson last summer that there are good English wingers called Adam in the second tier of English football available for a decent price, and £2m would be an absolute steal.

David Moyes could again prove his transfer market prowess with an astute cheap signing, after sealing similar priced deals for Steven Pienaar, Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill in the past.

If Hammill proved half as successful as those players, he would be a fantastic asset for Everton.
