Aston Villa and Wigan are both interested in out-of-favour Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
The Polish goalkeeper joined United for £2m in 2006 but has struggled to dislodge Edwin Van Der Sar as the club’s first choice.
Kuszczak thought he may have had a chance of finally becoming the United number one when Sir Alex Ferguson hinted van der Sar may retire this season but the arrival of Anders Lindegaard has led to doubts over Kuszczak’s future.
Gerard Houllier is good friends with Ferguson and although he has been told to forget about signing Michael Owen in January, talkSPORT understands United would be willing to listen to offers for Kuszczak. (IMScouting)

With all the talk about who Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to bring in to replace Edwin van der Sar you could be forgiven for forgetting that there are other goalkeeping alternatives at Old Trafford as it seems that the Man United boss has no intention to making the likes of Pole Tomasz Kuszczak or youngster Ben Amos the club’s next number one keeper.

Tomasz Kuszczak has made just 25 Premier League starts over the past four years and may well feel that this summer is a good time to move on to pursue regular first team football, not least because at 28 he doesn’t want to be spending the peak periods of his footballing career sitting on the bench praying for his counterparts to get serious injuries.

Aston Villa may be a good option but the success of such a move would depend on what happens to ancient American Brad Friedel. Clearly a move to Wigan may lead to a more immediate run in the first team but Roberto Martinez’s side are likely to be relegation battlers.

Thomas, the choice is yours.
