Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly moving closer to sealing a deal to bring Chilean wing wizard Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford. The highly rated Udinese youngster has been linked with a move away from the Serie A side and it appears that Manchester United are leading the race to sign the pint sized wide-man.

The former Cobreloa man, and one time Colo Colo and River Plate loanee, attracted a lot of attention with his excellent performances at the World Cup and has followed up his international form with a solid start to the season in Italy.

The Udinese player’s agent is quoted as saying
“I don’t think he will move in the January transfer window, but maybe in the summer. We will see.

“Yes, they [Manchester United] are watching him, and it could be a possibility in the future. I have heard that another Premier League club also enquired, but they didn’t contact me.

“For the time being the only thing I have heard is from Manchester United. The Premier League is a very interesting destination for Alexis Sanchez but it is only Manchester at the moment.

Which seems to further the case that Man United are leading the chase to sign a player who appears to have outgrown his club side and is very keen on leaving for pastures new and £16m rated Sanchez will clearly jump at the chance of a move to the Premier League side.
