Manchester United are set to renew their interest in Valencia winger Joaquin.
Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be a big admirer of the Spanish international and was hoping to bring him to Old Trafford last year when Antonio Valencia got injured.
Joaquin, 29, has been outstanding for Valencia in La Liga this season and has also been targeted by Chelsea and AC Milan.
With the departures of David Silva and David Villa, Valencia are not the same force and Joaquin would relish the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Valencia would not consider selling their star winger for less than £9m, but reports in Spain suggest that United are prepared to meet the valuation and hope to finalise a deal for the experienced winger in the January transfer window. (TalkSPORT)

29 year old Joaquin is one of those players who appear to have been around for an age and to find out that the Valencia man is still the right side of 30 is something of a surprise given the winger has 400+ top tier appearances to his name.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be a long term admirer of the Spanish international who six successful years at Real Betis before he made his big money move to the Mestalla in 2006 where he has been a virtual ever present for the past five seasons and now it appears that like his former big name team-mates David Silva and David Villa, Joaquin may be ready to leave Unai Emery’s side.

It would be odd for Ferguson is bring in a player of advancing years given that he has specifically appeared to be after new up and coming talents but perhaps the Man United boss sees the goal scoring wide man as a good short term solution to the lost of Antonio Valencia. However clearly Joaquin would be unable to take part in the Champions League having already taken part in the competition.
