Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has reassured the club’s fans that Gareth Bale will not be sold.
The 21-year-old midfielder, whose contract runs until 2014, has received rave reviews this season with some superb displays, notably in Europe.
“I’ve never deemed us to be a selling club if you look at the big transfers which have taken place since I’ve been chairman,” said Levy at the club’s AGM.

What, ever? Surely Daniel Levy just means the Welshman will not be sold any time soon, and you can’t blame the Tottenham chairman for attempting to stave off interest in a player who has become crucial to the north London club’s style of player over the past 18 months.

Harry Redknapp has worked out how to get the most out of a player who didn’t have the best of starts at White Hart Lane and now the whole of Europe is interested in the 21 year old and the club know that bids will start to come in for the former Southampton man and it is very wise to make it clear that no sale is planned.

Will that stop the speculation? No.
