Wing sensation Eden Hazard has dropped his biggest hint so far that he wants to join Arsenal at the end of the season.
The 19-year old Belgium flyer’s performances for Lille this season have made him a target for Europe’s biggest clubs and even drawn praise from Zinedine Zidane, who has urged Real Madrid to snap him up.
Real look set to lose out to Arsenal, though, after Hazard praised Arsene Wenger’s record for bringing through young players and revealed that he turned down the chance to join Chelsea for around £12million last June.
‘I could have gone last June, but I was not ready to make that big leap,’ he said.

‘Recently the press have been writing about interest from Liverpool, and it is nice to hear your name being mentioned everywhere, especially with the best teams in the world.
‘If I do leave at the end of the season, I don’t want to go somewhere where I will be on the bench. I am young, not 20 until next month, and it will be difficult to break through in a team like Real, where Ronaldo and Kaka will be my competitors. But there are teams like Arsenal, where youngsters can grow more easily into the first team and make their mark.
‘I will not leave for another French club, because, with more or less 100 first division matches under my belt for Lille, I don’t think I have to prove my qualities for a team in the same league. I am feeling stronger now and better equipped for the challenge of playing at a higher level.’ (Daily Mail)

Arsene Wenger has been chasing Eden Hazard for the best part of two years and these comments from the Lille starlet will surely mean that a deal will be done sooner rather than later. The 19 year old Belgian international has been in fine form in Ligue 1 and in the Europa League and appears to have more or less outgrown his side.

It would reportedly take a bid in the region of £15m to convince Hazard’s side to sell and whilst such a sum is pretty huge for a player yet to turn 20, the potential shown by the youngster has made him a wanted man. All of Europe’s elite appear to be chasing his signature.

Real Madrid are said to be considering a move for the adaptable midfielder who can play on the wing or in an advanced midfield role and has been known to work effectively in the hole behind the strikers. He has an eye for goal and has developed a reputation in France for being able to manufacture something out of nothing.
