Christopher Samba ‘set to choose Arsenal over Spurs and Chelsea’
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will buy unsettled Blackburn defender Christopher Samba this month if Thomas Vermaelen is not ready to return from injury.
Wenger wants a commanding centre-half to whip his erratic back four into shape and Samba fits the bill.
The Rovers defender is believed to upset at the way in which Sam Allardyce was sacked by the club’s new owners Venky’s Ltd at the end of last year.
Current manager Steve Kean insists the 26-year-old has not handed in an official transfer request.

However, Samba has publicly declared he no longer wants to be a part of Blackburn and has reiterated his desire to leave.
His comments have sparked interest from a number of Premier League clubs, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Fulham all said to be interested in signing the centre-back. (Metro)
Christopher Samba may well be an ideal candidate to end Arsene Wenger’s search for defensive solidity. The Blackburn Rovers centre back wants out at Ewood Park and has placed Arsenal at the top of his wish-list and a move for the Congolese international may well be a possibility this month.
The 26 year old is in his fourth season in the Premier League and has shown a great deal of ability and is known as being a player who wears his heart on his sleeve and likes to give 100% to every challenge and as such was made captain at Blackburn Rovers before the former Hertha Berlin and Sedan man asked to leave the club in protest over the sacking of Sam Allardyce last month.
He would cost Arsenal around £12m and would be a very good investment and would help bring some composure and steel to an occasionally dithering and error prone back four.
