Roma are believed to be interested in luring Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti to replace their current boss, Claudio Ranieri.
The former AC Milan boss is believed to be having a difficult time at Stamford Bridge, with reports of a potential exit emanating since the sacking of his former assistant Ray Wilkins and the team’s coincidental slump in form and results.
Now The News of the World claims that the Italian outfit are looking bring back their former player as a manager during the summer, with the 51-year-old having spent eight years playing for the capital club.
Ancelotti is certainly under pressure at Chelsea, who have managed only two victories in their last 11 games in all competitions, prompting club owner Roman Abramovich to warn that recent results had not been good enough. (Goal.com)
It is of course insane that Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is in danger of losing his job given that he completed the domestic double in his first season in charge, but just in case he is given the boot Roma are apparently ready to hand their former player the job. However this would of course mean getting rid of their current boss, Claudio Ranieri who led the Stadio Olimpico side to within 90 minutes of a Serie A title last term.
Given the amount of managerial sackings in England in recent weeks and months it would not be a huge surprise if Roman Abramovich decided to swing the axe, but if he did so it would be an incredibly backward step for the west London side to make.
