The Australian Open draw has been made, and if British hope Andy Murray is again to reach the final he could play the world’s best players along the way.
He begins with what should be a straightforward tie against Karol Beck, ranked 104 in the world, and will be eased into the action with prospective matches against Illya Marchenko (78) and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (33), but should he reach the 4th round things will get considerably tougher.
Seeded to face 11th seed Jurgen Melzer, the wildcard Juan Martin Del Potro could also play Murray in the 4th, with a match against Robin Soderling likely in the quarters.
If he came through that match, Murray would probably face world number one Rafael Nadal and then Roger Federer in the final.
The tournament is set to be a classic, and Australian Open tickets are available now.
