Celtic have lined up a £1-million move for Everton striker James Vaughan , according to the Mail.
Vaughan became the youngest-ever Premier League goalscorer at the age of 16 in 2004–05, but a series of injuries have hindered his progress somewhat.
He has been loaned out to Derby County, Leicester City and, most recently, to Crystal Palace, where he scored five goals in 13 games during the first half of this season.
He is currently behind the likes of Louis Saha, Victor Anichebe and Jermaine Beckford in the Toffees pecking order. (IMScouting)
CELTIC are eyeing a swoop for Birmingham City’s veteran striker Kevin Phillips.
The 37-year-old hitman is set to be allowed to leave the Blues during this transfer window and the Hoops have been alerted to his availability.
Parkhead gaffer Neil Lennon is in the market for a striker and Record Sport can reveal Phillips is one of a number of names he is checking out.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon is looking to bring in new attacking options to help keep his side ahead of their arch Old Firm rivals as the race for the SPL title hots up. Clearly however the Parkhead boss is having to work within a tight budget and as such has to do his research and to that end he has earmarked moves for two players at opposite ends of their careers.
Kevin Phillips is a proven goalscorer who could well be a good short term success in the SPL. The 37 year old is still yet to start a Premier League game this season but is still very able to make a splash north of the border, the former Sunderland man scored four goals in two Premier League starts last term and would set Celtic back around £1.5m.
James Vaughan exploded onto the scene at Everton as a 16 year old but has not really quite got going at Everton but the former England Under 21 striker is still just 22 and had a good spell on loan at Crystal Palace and if Lennon could get the youngster for just £1m then that would be absolute bargain.
