Britush number one and World number five Andy Murray meets David Ferrer in the Australian Open semi-final today with his maiden Grand Slam title tantalisingly within reach.

Murray is hoping to make his second successive final at Melbourne Park though equally he hopes to end this years tournament more positively after being taught a tennis lesson by Roger Federer in the 2010 final. However, that would be jumping the gun as he fist has to negotiate a difficult match against David Ferrer. The Spanisad knocked out compatriot Rafael Nadal in the previous round which is no mean feat even if the world’s top ranked player was suffering from a hamstring injury.

Murray will have to at his very best to win this match though he has won both meetings between the pair on hard courts so the omens bode well.
