Harry Redknapp has confirmed Tottenham have put a bid in for Everton skipper Phil Neville.
The Spurs boss has been linked with the experienced campaigner as he plots progress in both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
He confirmed to Sky Sports News on Monday the club had made a bid for the 34-year-old, but he is unsure of securing his signature before the end of the transfer window.
Redknapp said: “We have made an offer to Everton – it is up to Everton, if David (Moyes) doesn’t want to sell him or he doesn’t accept it, then that’s fine.
“That is the only one if anything was going to happen, it’s a possibility but I doubt very much whether they’ll be any business at all from us tonight really.”

Whether you believe every Tottenham related rumour or not this month it does seem that the North London side have been rejected an awful lot of times. In fact just today reports suggest that moves to sign Diego Forlan, Sergio Aguero, Andy Carroll and Giuseppe Rossi have all failed. The White Hart Lane boss did appear to be looking for some additions this month but appears to have come away empty handed unless the wily old goat has something sneaky up his sleeve.
To be fair it did seem highly unlikely that the Toffees would agree to sell their captain, not least as the Merseyside club are still not clear from a relegation fight and need his leadership to salvage something from their season and apart from anything else it is unlikely that any offer for the 33 year old would have been so substantial as to be impossible to turn down.
