Newcastle have has a late £10m bid for Wigan’s Charles N’Zogbia turned down.
The 24-year-old only left St James Park two years ago but now it seems as if the Magpies want the tricky winger back at the club. N’Zogbia demanded a move after being referred to as ‘Charles Insomnia’ by then manager Joe Kinnear but a change in management as well as a lack of offers from other clubs could persuade him to return to Tyneside.
However, Latics chairman Dave Whelan has refused to sanction a move for his player citing the lack of time for the club to find an adequate replacement as they continue their fight against relegation.

Newcastle United may have dodged a bullet with this one. Quite why the Magpies would want to bring back the inconsistent talent that is Charles N’Zogbia is beyond me. I could understand if Alan Pardew was trying to sign a striker to replace Andy Carroll but why try to make a last ditch move for the Wigan winger?
Yet another transfer window goes by where the one cap French international, picked when everyone else was suspended from the selection process, is linked with fake interest from big clubs and ends up going nowhere.
Quite simply the Latics winger is not good enough for Newcastle United.
