SAMIR NASRI is desperate to stay at Arsenal and sign a new contract.
The French star has 18 months to see out but will accept a five-year deal worth £75,000-a-week.
Nasri’s agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, revealed: “He’s happy at the club, the coach believes in him, the directors believe in him as well.
“He said to me, ‘You won’t believe the great atmosphere in the changing room, I’ve rarely experienced anything like this’.”
Nasri, 23, arrived from Marseille in 2008 for £15.8million but is enjoying his best season.

Samir Nasri has been in excellent form over the past 18 months and is arguably now the most important player in Arsenal’s squad. The Frenchman has struggled with injuries since his arrival at the North London club in 2008 but has shown what he is capable of both at the tail end of last term and has continued to impress this season.
The 23 year old has netted 14 times this term, making him Arsenal’s top scorer and as well as a great many of those strikes being spectacular ones he has also weighed in with many assists to boot and it was crucial for Wenger to tie the former Marseille man to the club for the foreseeable future, especially with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly sniffing around.
Wenger will hope that Nasri can spearhead the club’s attack as Arsenal look to end a long silverware drought this term.
