Sir Alex Ferguson’s search for an able replacement for veteran retirement bound Dutchman Edwin van der Sar has become something of legend. The Old Trafford boss has reportedly been searching high and low for a new custodian as it appears that Danish international Anders Lindegaard may be a back up for a bigger name who is in the frame and this source believes that big name to be Inter Milan keeper Julio Cesar.
The 31 year old Brazilian has been a virtual ever present at the San Siro for the five seasons and has won just about everything there is to win and may be interested in a new challenge and a big money move to Manchester United may appeal to the former Flamengo man.
Inter Milan have been linked with moves to bring highly rated Bologna keeper Emiliano Viviano, six years Cesar’s junior, in the summer which has led to speculation that the talented goalie may consider leaving although the player himself has stated that he intends to fight to keep his place at Inter Milan but perhaps if the right offer came in then new Nerazzurri boss Leonardo may decide to cash in.
