Liverpool are in the driving seat to land Blackpool playmaker Charlie Adam as it has been suggested that the Scottish international will be allowed to leave Bloomfield Road in the summer and a move to Anfield is his most probably destination as the in form midfielder has already stated his desire to move to the Merseyside club in previous statements on the subject of his career prospects.

The 25 year old was very much a Liverpool target in January and both boss Kenny Dalglish and Director of Football Damien Comolli are admirers of the former Rangers man who has been a huge hit at Blackpool over the past 18 months during which time the Dundee born Tangerines star has put his career back on track after six years trying to force his way into the Ibrox first team picture.

Liverpool have experienced an upturn in fortunes since the appointment of Kenny Dalglish as caretaker boss and it is highly likely that the former boss and playing legend will be offered the post on a full time basis in the summer and this will in turn make a move to land Charlie Adam all the more likely.

Thus far this season Adam has been a huge influence on Blackpool’s efforts to steer clear of a relegation battle and though recent results have gone against them Ian Holloway’s side have nonetheless battled manfully, especially in their two recent defeats against Man United and Everton.

£10m rated Charlie Adam has netted seven goals thus far this season and assisting many others and has proved a pivotal figure linking midfield and attack, a similar position to which Liverpool would like to play him in next term as Messrs Dalglish and Comolli look to add more creativity to their midfield.
