The agent of Ewerthon has confirmed the interest of several Premier League clubs.
The Brazilian striker is available on a free transfer after ending his contract with Palmeiras.
Barry McIntosh said: “A lot of teams want Ewerthon, he is available at no cost and is trying to conclude his transfer. It is no secret that several Premier League clubs are following him.
“I will not go into details, but if you ask me if Ewerthon would go to Newcastle, the answer is yes, obviously it is a club that would take him seriously.”

Okay, he may not be the next Andy Carroll, but can Newcastle afford to be overly-picky?
The Magpies’ four recognised strikers are not proven in the Premier League, and two are now injured.
They have £35 million to spend from the sale of their former number nine but it is no longer the transfer window so they can not spend any of it.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has to rely on on free agents. This is why the club is being heavily linked with Ewerthon.
The former Real Zaragoza and Borussia Dortmund striker has scored wherever he has gone, roughly averaging a goal every three games.
But he hardly stays in one place for very long. The longest he was at a club was with Dortmund and his good performances got him into the Brazil team.
Maybe at 29-years-old he is ready to settle down and willing to swap Rio’s Christ the Redeemer for the Angel of the North.
