Manchester City are tracking Udinese midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah according to media reports.
City chiefs have been in Udinese on a scouting mission fueling talk of a move for midfielder Gokhan Inler but local sources say the real target for their attention was 22-year-old Ghana international Asamoah.
City boss Roberto Mancini has followed Asamoah’s progress since he was an 18-year-old. He is convinced he would thrive in the hurly-burly of the Premier League.
If Mancini does bid for Asamoah he will face competition from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
The Frenchman has been impressed with the Ghanaian’s tough tackling, ball control and his ability to find the final pass.
Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo is adamant they’re no longer a selling club, though City’s spending power could change his mind.
