It appears that Liverpool’s current owners are far more willing to splash the cash than Messrs Hicks and Gillett, who by the way are trying shamelessly to sue the Anfield club, and a move for highly rated Napoli attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi is apparently on the cards.

The 25 year old Argentine is apparently being lined up as a player who can form part of a three man attack that would see him play alongside new signings Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez is what would be one hell of a mouthwatering partnership.

Kenny Dalglish does also have the likes of Dirk Kuyt, Milan Jovanovic and David N’Gog as up front options but clearly the Liverpool boss feels the club need more in the way of firepower and a move for the former San Lorenzo man would be a wise one.

Currently in his fourth season at the Naples club, Lavezzi has been a big success in Serie A and is more of a provider than an out and out goalscorer, but he does also weigh in with a decent chunk of goals to boot. Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri uses Ezequiel as part of a front line up that includes goal machine Edinson Cavani and playmaker supreme Marek Hamsik and as such it would take a big offer to wrestle the player from the Italian club.

If Napoli finish in a Champions League qualification spot then a move to sign him may become all the more trickier.

Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer move for striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Argentine international forward has been earning rave reviews for his performances with Napoli in Serie ‘A’, and Kenny Dalglish is thought to be interested in bringing the player to Liverpool.

Lavezzi gave the Merseysiders a glimpse of his talents in a Europa League clash at Anfield earlier this season, shining in the first half before Steven Gerrard came off the bench to rescue Liverpool with a hat-trick.

A product of the Boca youth system, the player made his name in south America before signing at the Stadio San Paolo for €6 million back in 2007. Lavezzi had previously signed for Genoa, but did not make an appearance during his first spell in Italy.

Whilst not the most prolific if strikers, the player is renowned for his passing and technical ability, and could play as a second striker or playmaker behind two forwards.

Despite spending big in the position in January, it’s thought that Dalglish is keen on strengthening his strikeforce further at Liverpool in the summer.

It’s thought that the player would cost in the region of €23 million, although Liverpool would look to negotiate a lesser fee for the player nicknamed ‘El Pocho’.
