Liverpool are apparently keen on Arsenal left back Armand Traore who Damien Comolli is apparently very well aware of due to his links with both the Gunners and the French Under 21 set-up. The Anfield side are looking for a new left back as Emiliano Insua and Paul Konchesky are not up for the job and Fabio Aurelio is getting on a bit and Glen Johnson is perhaps not going to be a permanent left back, covering as he is in the position simply because youngster Martin Kelly is by the looks of it a great prospect on the right.

Arsenal are ready for a bid for Samir Nasri from Barcelona who are of course also keen on Cesc Fabregas. Andrei Arshavin continues to be linked with an Emirates exit and as well as interest from his former Zenit employers it seems that Turkish side Galatasaray are keen on the Russian playmaker.

In the defensive area Arsene Wenger is looking to sign Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci who’s side appear to be heading for Bundesliga relegation. The Arsenal boss is still looking to bring in another defender to beef up a back line that includes Thomas Vermaelen (injured), Sebastien Squillaci (prone to errors and injury prone), Laurent Koscielny (solid but occasionally positionally inept) and Johann Djourou (who is actually maturing into a very good centre back).

Tottenham are keen on signing Athletic Bilbao giants Fernando Llorente but will have to pay big bucks to sign the Spanish international but given that Harry Redknapp is not convinced by his current quartet of strikers a move may seem a plausible option. For the record he has the following options at present. Robbie Keane (sure to leave in the summer), Jermain Defoe (0 goals in 12 Premier League appearances this season), Roman Pavyluchenko (unhappy about being overlooked) and Peter Crouch (2 goals in 25 Premier League appearances this season)

Manchester United want Everton youngster Jack Rodwell, but that’s hardly news as Sir Alex Ferguson has been after the midfielder for an age. The Old Trafford boss also badly wants Luka Modric and is now looking to beat Inter Milan to the signing of Feyenoord youngster Luc Castaignos. The Premier League table toppers are also apparently going to allow Gabriel Obertan and Bebe to leave because they are simply not good enough, the same may also apply to Darron Gibson, Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck, although apparently the jury is still out on those three. And it seems that Igor Akinfeev is the latest potential replacement for retirement bound Edwin van der Sar.

Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier wants to solidify this defence with a move for Barcelona centre back Diego Milito but will the Argentine swap the occasional La Liga match for a move to the Premier League, he may well do according to some sources. The Villa Park boss is keen to strengthen his back-line that has conceded 46 goals this term, which compares poorly to last season when they only let in 39 all season. Up and coming defender Ciaran Clark is impressing many but perhaps the likes of Richard Dunne, Habib Beye, Luke Young and Carlos Cuellar are not pleasing the French boss?

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, but for how long, wants more young defenders at the club and has earmarked a move for Borussia Dortmund centre back Neven Subotic who could form a long term pairing with David Luiz. It’s a move that could work although would the Serbian leave the Bundesliga side after they win their first title in a decade? The likes of John Terry, Paulo Ferreira and Ashley Cole are getting on a bit though, so new additions would make sense.
