Reports from Italy have claimed that Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are ready to exploit any stumbling blocks in contract talks between Dirk Kuyt and Liverpool.
The 30 year old is currently locked in negotiations with the Reds and has expressed his desire to stay on Merseyside as he looks to end his career in front of the Kop.

He has described Liverpool as feeling like “home.”

The Dutch striker has made over 160 appearances for Liverpool and his work rate has done much to endear him to the Liverpool faithful. His lack of goals in the Premier League has been the only flaw in what has been a successful five years in the top division. He has managed four goals in 22 games so far this season with four assists to match.

Now if you have been paying close attention you would have noticed in recent days that the struggling Bundesliga outfit who are bankrolled by Volkswagen are also apparently also keen on Liverpool centre back duo Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger.

Former playing legend Pierre Littbarski is the current caretaker boss at the Volkswagen Arena and the successful capture of their first German title a couple of seasons has led the club to have mighty ambitions and it seems they like Liverpool and wish to purchase a number of the Anfield first team but they may struggle to convince Kenny Dalglish and Damien Comolli to sell any of this trio as they have all put in good displays of late and the Merseyside club look like they are on their way up which is more than can be said of Wolfsburg.

Currently the club lies just four points from the drop zone in 15th and Steve McClaren’s sacking doesn’t appear to have stopped the rot.

Liverpool are however likely to sell a number of their squad with the likes of Emiliano Insua, Paul Konchesky and Philipp Degen all likely to leave.
