Arsenal are eyeing Lech Poznan striker Artjoms Rudnevs.

Fulham have been linked with Latvia international and the Daily Mail says the 22-year-old has attracted attention from Arsenal, Barcelona and Juventus, against whom he scored four goals in the Europa League.

Rudnevs, who can operate as a right winger, is valued at around £5million.

The versatile attacker has an ambition to move to a bigger competition.

Sorry to tell our friends over at tribalfootball and the Daily Mail, but they got this one wrong.

Arsenal have absolutely no interest whatsoever in this player.

On paper you can see why: a young footballer no one has heard of, been linked with many top clubs, can also play as a winger.

But the main reason this story is out is an over-talkative agent who is trying to get his client’s name into the public domain – well it worked.

But Arsenal have plenty of attacking options. Robin Van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner and Marouane Chamakh are already jostling for one position in Wenger’s 4-3-3 formation.

Chuck into that mix Theo Walcott (who the Frenchman sees as a striker) and the loanees of Carlos Vela and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, who are both earning rave reviews.

Wenger has plenty of striking options and is very happy to leave this player to Mark Hughes.
