Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson apparently wants Athletic Bilbao’s big striker Fernando Llorente which would be an interesting move considering that the Old Trafford boss already has Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez all on long term contracts. It is however likely that Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen will be going in the summer but even then it would seem that £34 is a big price to pay for a back up striker!

Liverpool are apparently close to agreeing a deal to sign Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko as Kenny Dalglish and Damien Comolli plan a huge clear-out this summer. The likes of Christian Poulsen, Philipp Degen, Milan Jovanovic, Paul Konchesky, Emiliano Insua and Alberto Aquilani will all reportedly be leaving Anfield this summer.

Arsenal are looking to swap Denilson for Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo and Nicklas Bendtner is wanted by Tottenham who may in turn then look to offload one or two of their current crop of strikers with Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko all failing to impress Harry Redknapp.

The Gunners are facing something of an injury crisis with Thomas Vermalen, Robin Van Persie, Theo Walcott and Cesc Fabregas all out for the Emirates side. Wenger may well have been advised to have spent money in January.

Tottenham are chasing AC Milan midfielder Mark Van Bommel as the White Hart Lane boss looks to add more steel to his side with Wilson Palacios not performing at his best this season and perhaps Brazilian Sandro is a little to raw for regular first team action.

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is open to a permanent move to Bolton and apparently Didier Drogba wants out as well after he was on the bench for the big Man United clash. Stamford Bridge new boy David Luiz had a great game last night but Fernando Torres continues to struggle for goals. Carlo Ancelotti hopes to land Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik as a long term replacement for Frank Lampard.

Fabio Capello may call up in form Celtic striker Gary Hooper and Juventus want Javier Mascherano.
