Real Madrid are interested in Arsenal youngster Ryo Miyaichi according to reports in the Spanish press and Jose Mourinho has been monitoring the Japanese teenager’s progress during his loan spell at Feyenoord. Arsene Wenger only signed the 18 year old in January but that is not stopping the Bernabeu side’s pursuit of the talented youngster.
Miyaichi has been making speedy progress, after impressing on trial at the Emirates last summer the North London club tied the impressive young winger to a professional contract on the last day of January and swiftly loaned out to Eredivisie side Feyenoord on a loan deal and hasn’t looked back since.
At De Kuip he is already something of a cult hero with the fans and his explosive runs and intelligent distribution have seen him become a very effective attacking weapon at the Dutch side and it seems his performances have not gone unnoticed.
Clearly Arsenal are unlikely to listen to offers for a player who they clearly feel has great potential but that will not prevent the La Liga giants from making their interest known. Jose Mourinho spent last summer looking to rejuvenate his Bernabeu side and set about collecting the best young talent across Europe and signed the likes of Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Angel Di Maria and it seems the former Chelsea man has his eyes on more youthful talent in the form of the Gunners man.
Miyaichi may have his work cut out if he wants to make an impact at Arsenal as the club has a number of quality wingers in their squad with the likes of Samir Nasri, Theo Walcott and Andrei Arshavin all fighting for wide roles with youngsters like Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Carlos Vela out on loan.
