Arsenal have re-signed Jens Lehmann on emergency loan to act as cover during the injury crisis.
Lukasz Fabianski, Wojciech Szczesny and Vito Mannone are all on the casualty list leaving the Gunners with Manuel Almunia as the only recognised keeper available.
Lehmann left Arsenal in 2008, following five successful seasons in North London winning the Premier League and FA Cup.
The 41-year-old joined Stuttgart but retired in 2010. Since then he has been training with the Arsenal youth goalkeepers until he earns his coaching badges.
The ex-German international held talks over signing a deal until the end of the season and will be used as cover for Almunia while bringing an experienced head as Arsenal attempt to win the Premier League.
“Arsenal currently have a goalkeeping crisis and I jumped at the chance to help them,” Lehmann told Bild.
