Emirates target will be sold this summer.
Lille ready to sell Arsenal and Chelsea target Hazard – but want him back on loan
Arsenal and Chelsea could be ready to launch bids for Eden Hazard in the summer after Lille revealed they are ready to sell – as long as he is loaned straight back to them for the whole of next season.
The Belgian star has been courted by the Premier League pair as well as a long list of top clubs from outside England.
But the chances of him leaving this summer appeared to narrow in March when he signed a contract extension until 2015.
But Lille may be prepared to sell the 20-year-old winger at the end of this season if he is allowed to spend next season on loan with them.
Lille are currently four points clear at the top of Ligue 1 and look likely to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Lille starlet Eden Hazard has stated his desire to continue his career progression under the tutelage of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and the admission that the Ligue 1 leaders will sell the the youngster will please the North London side who have been chasing the Belgian international for the best part of two years.
Hazard has been in excellent form this season and his performances are a big part of the club’s recent success that could well culminate in a first domestic title in over 50 years. Arsenal may well be willing to agree to the loaning back of the playmaker as they have a number of similar players in their squad.
Lille are demanding €20m (£17.6m) for their prized asset and it seems that the Gunners are willing to pay the asking price although the fear may be that Chelsea’s interest may result in a bidding war that Wenger will not want to get involved in.
To help generate funds for such a purchase there has been much speculation that the likes of Andrei Arshavin, Manuel Almunia, Denilson, Nicklas Bendtner and Emmanuel Eboue may be offloaded this summer.
