Manchester City booked a place in the FA Cup Final as they beat arch rivals Manchester United at Wembley thanks to a second half goal from Yaya Toure. Dimitar Berbatov had a number of good chances to put United ahead in the first period but couldn’t find a way past Joe Hart.
Yaya Toure scored for City seven minutes into the second half after Michael Carrick had misplaced a pass and Mario Balotelli and David Silva were causing Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic all sorts of problems and Roberto Mancini’s side deserved their lead for their persistence.
Nani then saw his deflected free-kick expertly tipped on to the bar before Paul Scholes was correctly sent off for going in high and studs up on Pablo Zabaleta with 20 minutes left on the clock.
