The British singer is expected to reach the landmark today.
Adele’s latest album, 21, is set to reach the 2 million sales mark by the end of today, according to the Official Charts Company.
21 recently enjoyed 11 weeks at the top of the UK album chart, but was toppled by Foo Fighters’ latest album Wasting Light on Sunday.
”The public are clearly passionate about Adele and passionate about her music. They kept her at number one in the Official Albums Chart for almost three months and they’re still buying her records. It may only be Spring, but Adele is already guaranteed to be one of the artists of 2011,” said Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot.
Tickets are on sale now for Adele UK tour dates set to take place throughout September 2011.
