Emirates hero knows a player when he sees one.
Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has hailed fellow Gunner Jack Wilshere for all his ‘special’ performances this season.
The 19-year-old has had an incredible debut season at the Emirates, winning many plaudits for his performances against Barcelona and earning a full England cap.
Last weekend he was crowned PFA Young Player of the Year and tomorrow will come up against the Player of the Year in Gareth Bale.
Van Persie is not surprised by how all the attention Wilshere has received and knows all about the teenager’s amazing talents.
“The amount of good games Jack has played is special,” Van Persie told the club’s website. “I have never seen anyone who is 19 and that good in his role.
“He plays very mature – when you get older, you have the experience and know how to play each game, and sometimes I feel he has that already.
“He can play for others and help others out, so that is a gift and he is doing it very well.”
